Under the Covers

If you follow me on Twitter (and why aren't you?  It's @pdilloway in case you don't know) you might have seen where I posted some rough cover designs I made once I figured out how to post pictures on Twitter.  Here's the complete set:

That's the eponymous Scarlet Knight, aka Dr. Emma Earl.  She has eye makeup so she looks like a chick.

That's Marie Marsh who has a funky blue eye.  And see the clock tower?  Clock, time, get it?

The Scarlet Knight's foe the Black Dragoon. Hence he's black with red eyes.

Becky Beech, our hero's best friend.  She should be fatter.

Witch Sylvia Joubert.  She needs a better hairstyle.

I had this image lying around. It's supposed to be our hero's future daughter.

That's not Jesus. It's our hero's boyfriend Jim Rizzard, aka the Sewer Rat.

Our hero is in the background and then there's little Joanna Reed and her mom Dr. Emma Reed from a parallel universe.
Some of the text seems hard to read.  I might have to use some different colors or something.  Otherwise, you want to buy these books?

  1. They're nice concepts, but I'm not sure I'd buy based on the covers alone.

  2. I really like the third from the bottom. It's hard for me to say with the others since they are Sims.

  3. Yeah real people are better, but real people are expensive. Though I don't think there's much difference between a Sim and a real artist's rendering of a person.

  4. Maybe check out Deviant Art and see how much using an image from there will cost compared to buying photos elsewhere.

Me personally, I just can't get past the Sims.
