Odds & Ends Volume 4

I don't post enough movie trailers I'm sure, so this is the latest trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises", aka probably the only movie I'll go watch in a theater in 2012.



Yesterday was a sad song, so let's bounce back with something funny.  This is "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Christmas at Ground Zero."


I was bummed this wasn't included in the "Greatest Hits" album but "The Night Santa Went Crazy" was included.  They're both great funny holiday songs, though.  Anyway, do you suppose this song isn't very PC now in the post-9/11 world?

    Weird Al! The man could really play an accordion. I'll be watching Batman myself this year. Has there ever been a third movie in a series that was really great? I did like the third Freddy Kreuger movie - great is a pretty strong word though, but it was campy, and that's close enough. Besides, they had a Dokken song on the soundtrack.

    Probably depends if you count Lord of the Rings: Return of the King as a third movie of a series.

    But yeah otherwise most 3s wind up being disappointing: Return of the Jedi, Godfather III, Halloween III, Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3, Superman 3...lot of low cards in that hand.

    A lot of people would probably count Harry Potter 3 and maybe Twilight 3. I haven't seen those, so I wouldn't know.

    That's my sister's reason for being excited about it. I'm more worried than excited. The Bane vs. Batman story arc of the early 90s is one of my favorites--I even have the comics!--I'm concerned Nolan is going to fuck it up too much.

    But no matter what, at least it's not another prequel...

    You know, I think the Jedi hate is just a generational thing. My kids love Jedi, and it's my daughter's favorite.
    I love Jedi, too.

    Now, I'm trying to think of movie thirds that are good...

    In the "Ground Zero" song did that guy really try and hide from the bomb by diving beneath a newspaper? I know it's sick but i couldn't help laughing.
